Cá35, decanted 15:30. The colour not good 25% opaque, red-orange. Nose over-mature, soft and sweet. No distinct fruit. But the palate was lovely: soft, over-mature, hint of barley sugar. Bright and ethereal, almost refreshing, and extremely long. Very good, and massively outperforming its colour.

Another from Tom's parcel of Calem 1935 UK bottled into old Champagne bottles. Orange ochre in colour with a hint of green on the rim, 30% opaque. Gentle orange on the nose, sweet but also very aromatic; a delicious smell. Smooth, honey-like texture; quite thick but with a wonderful acidity keeping fresh. Very lively and concentrated with burnt orange edges to the palate. Masses of orange oil on the late palate, which is huge in volume and flavour. Very flavoursome aftertaste and a lingering orange oil finish. This is a fabulous port, despite the worrying light colour. 94/100.
