2013 Sandeman Seixo

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Dark scarlet in colour with a narrow rim. Although quite closed, the nose shows some fresh redcurrant. Young / youthful entry showing harsh fruit and pronounced tannins and acidity that has not yet integrated. Aggressive and drying tannins dominate the mid-palate but some enjoyable floral elements come through on the late palate. The finish is chewy and enjoyable with the floral tones continuing. This seems to be starting to shut down despite only having been in the bottle for a couple of years, but should come back into balance with patience. 85/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
