1985 Fonseca

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From the 2017 Berry Brothers Port Walk.

Deep red colour, just on the right side of maturity; 90% opaque. Nicely perfumed nose, very complex and full of fruit. Delicious on the palate, sweet and full of ripe bramble fruit and still showing dry but smooth tannins. The aftertaste is fabulous, big and full of dark bramble fruit; the finish is of great length. This continues to demonstrate why it is a contender to be one of the Top 10 vintage ports of the 20th century. 95/100. 23-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
