1977 Graham

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

From the 2017 Berry Brothers Port Walk.

Evolved and mature appearance and colour, surprisingly only 10% opaque. A wonderful aroma pours out of the glass, spicy and complex; so easy to sniff for ages. Smooth entry onto the palate with some restraint at first but this builds and develops wonderfully to give sweet dried fruit that is beautifully integrated. This is much more youthful than the '66 but has so much more potential for future development — there are still hints of tannins! An explosion of flavour stuns on the aftertaste and the fabulous Graham Christmas cake finish has tremendous length. 94/100. 23-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
