1963 Gould Campbell

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature brick red with a bronze core; 30% opaque. Slightly oxidised nose with hints of rosemary oil and charcoal. Smooth on the palate, not thick texture but not thin either. Aromatic and fragrant with a lovely delicacy. Burnt sugar toffee apple on the late palate and a lovely acidity. A bit of a gap on the aftertaste and a warm red toffee apple finish. 88/100. 05-Dec-17. Decanted 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
