1995 Quinta do Noval Colheita (bottled 2017)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2017. Burnt ochre colour, 40% opaque. Almonds and a little VA on the nose. Lacking flavour at first on the palate, but thick honey flavours take over the mid-palate. The late palate is even better, deep and rich with lots of date but also a lively green apple acidity. Lots of layers of flavour. The acidity kicks in on the aftertaste and the tannins dry the edges of the teeth on the long flavoured finish. 89/100. 05-Dec-17. Decanted 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
