From Sean C's extensive cellar and decanted for 4½ hours before being drunk. Light in colour with a pale rim, slightly cloudy. A nose of dates and crushed eucalyptus leaves. Sweet, candied fruit stewed and steeped in syrup dominate the flavours when you take the first sip, a lovely thick texture and good balance. Hardly any tannins still show and the wine brings a great development in the mid palate. The aftertaste glows and lingers for a long time, long and full. A very good port from a vintage with a reputation for weak wines, this does not fit into that category and is a beautiful wine that it drinking at its peak. 7/6 or 91/100 and probably the surprise of the night. Drunk 8/2/08.

Agreed. Not only the surprise of the night, but the best showing I've ever had with a T'60 and maybe of ANY 1960 I've tasted!

the 1960 Taylor :

Light red, very translucent, fading to pink at the edge. Soft burnt nose (“ash†—RAH). Mid-weight, with heat fading and softness increasing with the passage of an hour. This Taylor my best-ever 1960: Uncle Tom score 9-8.
