I was very amazed to hear that I once bid for exactly this bottle at an auction, which I unfortunately did not won. But as it turns out: most things come to a good ending. Light brown, with a massive structure. This wine is completely alive. Nice spices on the nose. Very inspiring alcoholic touch on the palate with malt and nougat-chocolate. The alcohol becomes more dominant with more oxidation. Good finish. For being 81 years old this wine is very vital and will stay there for the next 10, maybe 20 years, but will not get better. So even if it is the grandpa in your cellar that you do not want to murder. Do it, otherwise he will commit suicide.

I think most readers will read my comments on the 27 so I will post my thanks to jdaw here: Muito obrigado for having me sent the placemats. Without them I would have confused my glasses many times. If you ever do a vertical tasting like that or any bigger tasting at all be nice to him and ask the same.

{OT: Don’t be shy about asking me: start a thread listing what you’re having, and if you know, who is having it, and it will take me moments to make. Or do it yourself: there’s an online description and manual, leading to the PostScript code itself.}
