One of my favorites of this fantastic Vintage:

Back in 2013 I was sitting nearby the ocean in Porto tasting 56 Vintage Ports 2011 blind, perfectly organized by the IVDP. Next to me tasted Fernando Melo, a very known wine critique of the Revista de Vinhos (nowadays Grande Escolha), having the same pace that I had. We both stopped at No. 42 and heavily discussed the Port and speculated about the producer. Never before did Vallegre bottle a Port with this quality as their Vista Allegre Vintage Port 2011: Deep dark color with medium intense Reflexes. Very intense, spicy and fruity bouquet with licorice, cherry, chocolate cassis and white pepper in the background. Perfectly supporting tannings and acidity on the palate with tight red-berry-fruits, cherry, chocolate and white pepper. Long aftertaste with multiple layers. 19/20
