1982 Graham Single Harvest Tawny (bottled 2018)

Post by jdaw1 »

In honour of the forthcoming nuptials of Prince Henry of Wales KCVO and Miss Rachel Meghan Markle, we gathered on Tuesday 15th May 2018 to drink ‘Port Fit for a (New) Duchess’, the theme being an echo of Port Fit for a Queen enjoyed on the occasion of Her Majesty’s reign exceeding that of Victoria.

Bottled in 20cl in 2018, a commemorative bottling to celebrate the marriage of HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Pale olive-brown, 20% opaque. A lovely nose of toffee and coffee. Sweet orange water entry with hints of coffee and surprising tannins showing on the palate. A soft brown sugar finish make up a light and delicate port. 86/100. Tasted 15-May-18. Decanted 2 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
