Cask sample. Opaque centre with a wide rim. An astonishing nose of cedar and tobacco - no fruit of any description! The cedar comes through on entry, followed by an amazing passion fruit and Canteloupe melon. Huge tannins grab the palate but never overwhelm the fruit, which is persistently over-ripe Canteloupe melon. Chewy aftertaste with a finish that leaves a lingering "Wrigley's Juicy Fruits" finish. Unique flavour profile! 85-87.

Tasted 12 September 2018.

NiB16 Deep ruby red. This port stood out from all the others as a completely different style and flavour profile. It was almost a 'burgundy' style. Funkier, earthier with the 'forest floor' notes of a burgundy. Some game notes and duck liver pate(?!). A real surprise and difficult to compare with the others on the night. Nonetheless, a beautiful port and a wonderful change from the others.
94-95 Points

90% opacity, Very dark red. Duck liver pate on the nose! Full, high tannin levels, very dry. Low acidity, agricultural notes. Totally different from anything else on the night. Many characteristics I don't often come across in Port.
