Fragrant and perfumed nose, elegant with a dose of sloe and a promise of acidity. Modest body with high levels of acidity and good bramble fruit that is sweet and refined. The fruit leads on the aftertaste and slowly changes to a lovely chocolate and blackcurrant finish. This is a very nice, medium-bodied port that has plenty of acidity and modest tannins which will evolve into a refined and elegant port. Potentially great value for money if offered at an attractive price. 88-90.

Tasted 12 September 2018.

Sk16 Deep Ruby red but a bit duller than some in colour. Good fruits on nose and palate, lots of acidity, but well balanced. A very drinkable port and looks to be a good buy for the longer term from the budget end.
