WOTN for me. Broodingly dark and deep red purple. Aromas of mashed grape and dark berries. Violets and aged blackberry with cassis. Finish has a hint o chocolate. Fruit is still very prominent and should be aged a lot longer--but what a great one. 95 points

Vesuvio 1994 starts with a tight, closed nose, and is likewise spciy and closed in the mouth. But it has excellent mouthfeel, the tannins are still working their way into the wine, and there's a solid fruit foundation. Overall, very good balance and even progression -- while I enjoyed it as "one of the better Vesuvios tonight" it has clear signs that it will mature into an excellent 40yr port. 93.
