NV Fonseca Bin 27 (bottled 2001)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in approximately 2001, this produced a considerable amount of sludge when decanted.

This tasting note from JDAW:
Nose of black pepper and plums. Palate lighter than nose promised. Good length, though still not heavy. Tertiary notes coming through, leather but not smoke. This is not a big Port; it is a well-aged lighter Port, that can be — indeed is being — drunk with pleasure. It's good, but my taste wants more mass but at the price paid (not much more than nothing), very good value. Drunk 14-May-2019. ½ hour in the decanter.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
