We drank this port last night at a nice gathering with wine friends from (around) Utrecht.

Inky black / purple colour, showing the concentration that young vintage port should have. Very fresh on the nose. Floral notes that reminded us of Fonseca, dark cherry, chocolate, bay leave and dried "douro" herbs. Hardly any alcohol showing on the nose. It tastes very spicy and herbal (dried herbs, not green), with young, fresh fruit (cherries, figs). Again bay leave and also some licorice. A slight bitterness adds interest. Medium bodied and very, very tannic.

This is a fine vintage port from Infantado, with a remarkable freshness for the vintage. The tannins made it slightly difficult to approach now, but a combination with dried fig / almond cake, and several cheeses took the tannins away somewhat and made it much more enjoyable. This will do very well on the medium long term I suspect.

At 27 euro (discounted from 31) this is a good value port and worth seeking out.
