1947 Tuke Holdsworth

Browning, with a hint of pale pink. On the nose spirity, with a hint of varnish and another note I couldn't identify but could perceive. Very pleasant in the mouth - very long sweet finish. An imperfect bottle but giving pleasure. Guessed to be a 1960s Colheita (at least by me). Tasted blind at B&F 9 January 2020. Courtesy NAC. Equal #3 WOTN.

25% opacity, Amber, tobacco yellow, very fine suspended particles. Fruit on the nose, apricots, quite extracted. Smooth entry, gentle heat and alcohol mid to late palate, fruit drying out, long aftertaste.

Part of a stash of bottles acquired from a "special" sale at C&B, costing the princely sum of £24 (including VAT)! The first (& worst looking) of three bottles.

Double decanted approximately 12 hours before the tasting. Thick yellow(?) wax capsule. No signs of seepage and clearly branded cork that came out in (mostly) one piece. Nose was a bit off, so decided to bring a back-up bottle just in case.
