Light rose colour with an orange rim, 30% opaque. Quite subdued on the nose with a little redcurrant jelly and some spirit. A lovely texture, slightly thickened, full of fruit with a hint of library dust tannins. Light and effusive on the palate. A quick hit of heat flashes through on the aftertaste before a delicious golden syrup leads into a lovely fruit finish with a nice touch of ground peppercorns. Lovely long finish. 89/100. Tasted 05-Feb-20. Decanted 11 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
