1917 Ferreira

Yes, history plays a role. When the grapes were harvested, our grand(grand)fathers were fighting each other in France.
Lucky us, that this time has passed and we could harvest the fruits of 1917 in peace.
A very shining yellow with strong reflexes. The nose is quite acidic with some Toffee-flavour in the background. Smoky. Slightly corky in the mouth with Almonds, Toffee and a nice integrated alcoholic note. As with the 1863 the aftertaste is split: the first is rather short, but the second—which has tastewise nothing to do with the first—is warm and long.
