From 90ml. Bottled 2020.
Deep reddish-brown. Big rancio VA nose, madeira-level pungency, smells of preposterously-expensive-artisanal-Christmas-pudding. Lots of deep dark pruny depth and complexity promised. Then, on the palate, massive richness and intensity, the Christmas pudding note (again, NOT some overly-sweet-celebrity-chef-inspired creation, but the full Mrs Beeton) congruent with the nose. Extremely long off-sweet finish.
I must confess I haven't been impressed by the 20 yr old tawny, or the 30 yr old tawny, in this [Advent Calendar] selection. But this 40 yr old is absolutely brilliant.
