From the tasting on 18 Mar 08 - served blind

Lovely clear red/brown colour. Not much on the nose. A worrying cardboard smell but Alex says "No, it's not corked"

Smooth and quite dry. A little heat initially but not distracting. Long finish with a slightly bitter edge.

My tasting note taken at the time:

Clear red with distinct brown tones; light and evolved. Tangarines on the nose, but it is remarkably closed. Sweet and gentle entry; a faint hint of tannin but lots of sweet small oranges and a lovely floral or lavender element within the centre of the mid-palate. Lovely aftertaste of orange peel and meat juice gravy. Lovely elegance and a port that is drinking very well at the moment. 4/4 or 90/100. Drunk on March 18th 2008 after 5 hours of decanter time.
