1983 Grahams Vintage Port
Posted: 07:22 Tue 25 Mar 2008
Dark ruby color.
Popped immediately at restaurant. (Paid WAY too much but in the company of very close friends, so bit the bullet).
Nose of red currants and minty anise (licorice?)
Tastes of a spicy cherry tussin, mouth coating, but hot. Very nice sweetness throat feel and finish that I'm starting to pick up from the Grahams.
89pts. with clear room for age and improvement with decanting and age. This feels like a port that can easily go 10 years.
94 pts I'm thinking at it's peak when the alcohol mellows out with the spicy cherry tussin.
