Served blind. Deep red colour, holding as a distinctly pink colour into the rim. The nose is thick, deep and rick, of stewed fruit. Thiskc texture in the mouth, deeply flavoured and with lotsof tannin giving the fruit good structure. The strong and strident acidity thins the texture of the wine a little in the mid-palate. The aftertaste is full of melons and pine sap. A short finish. A perfectly respectable port. 1/1. There was a lot of discussion as to whether this had suffered from being baked. The conclusion we came to was that it must have been. This bottle was acquired by CG from a retailer, who may have been displaying it in a window or on a high shelf near lights. The stewed components led me to guess this was a Vesuvio 90. Drunk on 10 April 2008 after 2 hours of decanting.
