Fresh out of Derek's car on Friday, so not stood up at all before decanting.
Despite that, the wine was decanted with only a modest haze.
I don't think I've ever tackled a '68 before - none that I can recall, anyway.
Writers such as Broadbent and Mayson are pretty dismissive of the vintage, so I've had it marked down as a 'don't bother unless it's really cheap' vintage.
This bottle however, had good colour and showed few signs of being over the hill. At first encounter, the wine seemed a bit short and lacking in complexity, but later (and the following day) it was much more approachable.
Respectable, if not one to lay down for the future.
Score 6-4
