This is the first bottle of Vesuvio I have ever opened from a case that I have purchased. Another virginity lost forever
It is making its way through the coffee filter now. Will report back soon.

A beautiful blackcurrant nose with a hint of spice. Very dark but not quite opaque. Smooth, thick and luxurious in the mouth with dark fruits and a decent amount of tannin. A long lingering finish leaves the cheeks watering and begging for more.
Marvelous port for drinking now or keeping for a decade or two more.

I stopped drinking this after one small glass to avoid glugging it down in a hurry. Coming back to it now it is even thicker than before and the tannins are starting to soften slightly. This really is delicious juice.

Much as I would like to comment on this, I can think of nothing to add apart from "sounds nice".

That is a remarkably insightful comment at this time of night and I am now interested to know why you have a talking computer?

My computer frequently talks and sometimes even sings. Such is the power of YouTube.

I haven't ventured onto YouTube. Can you smell cheese through it?

I can currently smell cheese through everything, see note on Terra Feita.

Having re-read the above thread it seems this Vesuvio was stronger than the average VP

Deliciously thick and smooth. A big black fruit bomb but quickly turning very dry and tannic. Interesting development as it was softer last night and I would have expected it to go the other way. This is drinking very well now but I'm glad I also have some tucked away for the future.
