2001 Taylor LBV, filtered, bottled 2007. Decanted just before tasting started, with no sediment. The lightest of the 2001s, but still darker than any of the older LBVs. Nosing of — wait — eucalyptus? The Taylor eucalyptus! “Vargellas-like†, I wrote. But a rough edge to it. Taste was terrible, overwhelmed by the roughness. Hopes that it would improve through the evening were, alas, unmet.
