My first ever unfiltered LBV. This as much a thank you to all of you who recommended it as a record of what I thought. I shared it last night with an army friend. I thought she would appreciate something to remind her of work!

We concluded that this was indeed an excellent LBV and one that we would both be buying in the future.

What struck me was that it was quity 'gloopy' in the glass and yet quite light in taste. Actually an excellent port for drinking on a warm summer evening in the garden. We thorughly enjoyed it and I have a small glass left to see what 24 hours has done for it.

I did notice it is only 19.5% as opposed to 20+ which seems the norm.

I believe the IVDP allows red Port to be made between 19% and 22% so 20% is more convention than fast rule. I do wonder whether some of the producers should experiment a bit more, as some Rubies and LBVs seem either to have too much or too little alcohol.

I'm glad you enjoyed the port! Seeing yet another good TN, I think I might have to try this one again, just to make sure that I haven't had two dodgy bottles!
