1988 Fonseca Guimaraens VP

Post by benread »

Another recent purchase to test as a regular drinking option. Opened a day or two after enjoying the 1987 Delaforce Quinta Da Corte. How different are these two wines?! This was a much darker ruby red colour with much more immediate fruit to the tase. Not as smooth as the QDC either. The alcohol was a more obvious kick as well.

I enjoyed this but it felt more like a port for winter than summer. To be enjoyed on a cold night next to an open fire perhaps!
