Terrible level: bottle 20% empty. Pale brick red. Acidic nose. Acidic in the mouth. Dead. Later, marginally less terrible, but still very tired and acidic. Dead.

1927 Croft: sediment.

I don't have quite as bad a impression of this from the evening of the tasting, although I will say it was not a good bottle of port, but my note from two days later is not complimentary:

+48 Hours
Now very clear and bright with a few small lumps of sediment in the bottom of the glass. Lots of VA on the nose - nail varnish. Very hot and acidic. Much, much worse than it was on Friday, which is hugely disappointing as the clour and appearance had improved enormously.

My impressions on the night were:

Cloudy appearance. Deep honey colour with a hint of orange in the centre. Plasticine on the nose, strangely antisceptic. The antisceptic comes through massively in the mouth, rosemary but with some sweetness coming through eventually. Really quite unpleasant and spoiled. From a seeping bottle with a level below low shoulder. Not rated.
