1995 Warre's Bottle Matured LBV
This was decanted 7 days ago and has spent all of that time in the fridge. Removed from fridge about 4 hours ago.

Very dark colour, nose is quite close but that may be suffering from the extended decanting. I remember more fruit when I first opened it. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy. This has an incredible amount of tanin showing for an LBV that has been open this long. Very smooth dark fruits. Nice long finish. This has quite a long life ahead of it.

I have had this many times and will have it many times more. It cost me £5 per bottle and is absolutely the best value port I have ever had, and probably ever will have unless someone gives me a bottle for free

Score: 7-7

The 1992 was very elegant with a nice balance of tannins, alcohol and fruit. Haven't had the 95 much but I remember it being more solid, soon find out at the parallel tasting.

....and then there's the 1994 88) - best of the three by a stretch so far as I can remember

What? The 94 was the best???
So what the Bloody hell did you get the 95 at £5 a bottle for? You should have got the 94 for £5 a bottle.
Gee Whiz, what are these guys on these days! :D

Maybe I did get the 94 at £5 a bottle - but you asked for 12 bottles of the 95

I had the 1994 once and it was good but I've had more 1992s which tend to blur my vision... literally.

I do recall the 94 being stunning, but have no notes to back it up. Perhaps we need to get our hands on some just to be sure? Maybe a case of 6 between 3 would prove the point?

Sounds fair. I just feel cheated spending £15 a bottle on it now :?

I'm with Alex. Agree in principle, but wait until someone spots at least 20% off and then the others will take their share of the 6 purchased.
Deal?

Deal - unless I crack.

I don't think we will ever find the 94 with 20% off. If we want it, we will have to pay the very reasonable price of £15 per bottle. Perhaps bearing in mind that this is only £4 more than Cruz VP 89 :?

£5 more than Cruz LBV 2001 at Morrisons.

I'm surprised I'm telling a Scot to be financially cautious! But we're not desperate for it. It'll fall into one of our laps in the next few years. I'm just wiiling to say I'm ready to commit to coughing up, where ever and whenever, if it turns out to be one of you two that stumbles across the bargain!

Yes, Alan, this completely backs-up the myth that it's the Scots who are tight :?

Don't worry, mate, if we have to pay full price for this gem we will be sure to let you know how good it is

The bottle swapping thing with Stevie didn't work out. I'll see if I can find this somewhere else soon.

Don't panic yet Ronnie, we haven't decided on a date yet.

BTW, your cat looks like he's just eaten some creme brulee.

Nope, I think this shot was taken just after he drank the glass of portonic that's in front of him.

I really must make him some creme brulee again. He loves the stuff.
