Gould Campbell 1985: Color seemed a bit lighter than the 83, nose fairly light with a hint of cinnamon and spice, fairly sweet and light. Comparing it to the 83, I did not notice the same tropical fruity finish on the 85. Overall, a very well-balanced port, quite enjoyable.

Gould Campbell 1985: translucent red, lighter than the GC83. Nosing of pepper, jalapeño, and lovely spice, which re-appeared in the taste with solid tannic structure and good length. Much better than its older sibling.

With a light red coloration and a vegetably nose, Gould Campbell 1985 surprised with a very spicy -- even chili (per jdaw) -- flavor. Though it began the evening with substantial tannins, these mellowed and I raised it's final score two points as a result. (90, drink)
