A recent purchase, opened to celebrate the 20th aniversary of my starting work on 26th September 1988. Around the time these grapes would have been harvested I guess.

Decanted at 6am and consumer around 3pm after a hearty lunch of steak & kidney pudding. Tasting notes limited due to lack of actual notes and quantity of other liquid subsequently consumed.

Dark red, fruity port, with plenty of nose. Compared to my one previous experience of this port, it definitely benefitted from having 9 hours in the decanter. Very enjoyable for this kind of lunch. It had mellowed with time open and was smooth to drink.

I would happily drink more of this - particularly as a winter port.
