2000 Ferreira: same purple as ’95. Nosing strongly of violets, and youthful plums. Big astringency. Big plums. Sweeter than others, and too much tannin. Way too young.

Also, a consequence. There was the first meeting of the International Society for the Preservation of Traditional Port Labels (exact name to be determined). Why the change for the Ferreira 2000 label? We like the stylish beige. And even if we didn’t, it’s traditional. Please, the old ways are usually best.

dark opaque reddish purple. Classic young nose with tons of purple black fruit and a whiff of violets.
Sweet black, very youthful and tannic with long 30 sec finish.
