2005 Quinta de Roriz single quinta vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Vivid purple colour. Full nose of blueberries, very inviting. A neutral entry, not the "in-your-face" fruitiness that was expected from the nose; surprisingly restrained in the mouth. Lovely complexity with some tannins around, but these are soft and gentle and do not dominate. Fruit and dark chocolate all over the aftertaste, which is long although not big. 86/100. Tasted 27/11/08 after 1 hour in the decanter.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
