Tasted September 2004
Tasted next to the Taylor's 75 VP.

This port has the same ruby/brown colour, hardly any difference visible.
The smell is alcoholic as well, but less irritating for the eyes. Some fruit present and orange peel. It is even a bit closed.
The taste has structure and fruit: cherries and dried fruits, something fleshy: baked bacon? and leather tones. The taste is hot as well, but manageble. It still has lots of tannines, but is well integrated. Overall, a nice glass of medium bodied port. Not too simple, not too complex.

with air (a day), mint tones do developed, but it becomes a very easy drinking port. Almost LBV like.
