2005 Quinta do Vesuvio single quinta vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Black, black, black. Wonderful youthful blueberries on the nose but dominated by tannins in the mouth, although there is a very pleasant fruitiness around and behind the tannin. But the tannis are powerful and dry the cheeks out instantly. The aftertaste - through the dry and peppery cheeks - is fruity and very long. A wine which shows a good deal of promise for the future. 90/100. Tasted 30/10/08 after 3 hours decanting.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
