This bottle was chosen to accompany a nice Serra da Estrela Cheese. 88)

Dark ruby colour, with only a slight rusty bricking. Very opulent nose, with a touch of typical Taylor heat, rock rose and dark fruit. Tastes powerful, young and dark. With black cherries, black currant and a massive licorice finish. Medium dry. It seems to be power over fruit at this stage, but at the same time the port is very accessible. At this young age this port is drinking much easier than e.g. 1991 and 1987, it seems to be very much in line with my note on the 1995 last year. 90 points.
