1955 Dow vintage port

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature ruby in colour. Huge amounts of bottle stink on the nose. The bottle stink flavours also dominate in the mouth. Needs a day or two to try and come round. Not rated.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Stinky, stinky stuff. But I also noted chocolate, nice weight and a long finish.

Sadly a rough bottle, not corked, just poor - but the only bottle of the night that failed to meet expectations.
