1967 Martinez vintage port

Only the first three digits of the vintage could be read from the cork. As Martinez only declared 1960, '63 and '67 it was an educated guess that this was the 1967. Cloudy and orange in appearance, not looking great. Nice mixture of nuts and oranges on the nose. Pleasant in the moth, sweet and very mature. Sweet with fudge, almond and brown sugar. The aftertaste is dominated by the sugar flavours, but does show some raisins and a bit of structural acidity. Weak compared to the other wines on show at the Third TPF Christmas Offline, but perfectly respectable in its own right. 85/100.

My note says: Cloundy - Licorice - Tired - Hot

This was certainly damaged so not a bottle that should be used to judge the quality of this wine

The lack of clear identity meant that I did not give the wine too earnest an appraisal, but it gave no offence!
