2004 Quinta do Passadouro LBV (unfiltered)

Post by RonnieRoots »

This is the first LBV produced after the break with Niepoort. Little more than 2000 bottles were produced, and one of those managed to find its way up to Muscat.

This bottle was obviously flawed, but not so much that it was undrinkable. Quite dusty on the nose, hardly showing any fruit. Nice and dense on the palate, but not giving all that it should. Now, it was an acceptable LBV, but not great. From a good bottle, this should be truly worth seeking out. NR.

A pity, but I will surely try to get my hands on another bottle to try it again.
