1967 Cockburn vintage port
Very pale and light in colour, leading you to expect a port that is fully mature. The nose reinforces this expectation, showing leather and wax polish mixed in with a touch of spearmint. Sweet and balanced fruit in the mouth, great complexity and a lovely streak of bitters - although this may be a little too much for some. The aftertaste is not so big, but is mouthfilling and enjoyable with toffee and sweet mulberries. Mature port, ready for drinking now and unlikely to improve with more time in the bottle. 90/100. Tasted 27/11/08.
