Very dark. Slightly cloudy. Smooth and delicious with the same characterisitics as the Calem 1970 but somewhat more mature and lacking the tannin. A beautiful port for drinking today.

1970 Cálem Quinta da Foz: the preposition is ‟da”, despite an attempt at dissent by email committed by a sinner whose blushes I spare. Bottled by the Wine Society.

The darkest of the â™  flight (Rio Pinhão Valley: , CáF, H, Mz); the hue could easily be that of a Fonseca. Nosing of smoke and pepper, which were also present in the taste. Length not great, and less sweet than the plain Cálem. An Islay whisky, port-style. For me WOTF. Lovely big wine. Cálem, let alone Cálem Foz!?!
