Decanted at 1:45pm for 7pm tasting. Opened with a corkscrew and the bottom 1/4 of the cork fell apart. It's tough to read it, too. There's a ton of big flaky sediment in the bottle.
+0 Brick red color, very clear, very nice nose without too much heat. Licorice and cherry, with a hint of something brighter that I can't quite pick out. In the mouth, a whole 3 seconds of cherries and then it's gone. Just vanished. Fortunately it's got some time in the decanter, but I'll give it a shake for insurance.

Graham’s 1980: dark red, and saturated dark red (similar to my previous taste of this). Nose was hard for me to describe floral? but John found ‟Tuscan-like meat flavours”. Long, viscous and full, medium sweet with good acidity. Moses tasted ‟bake”.

Rich brown sugar with a leather note on the nose. Was also a slight metallic tinge but that disappeared later.

Heavy, spicy, asian pears?, dark red cherries, medium body that picks up weight as the night progresses.

Nice leather finish, but finishes then on a slight bitter tinge.

+6 Dark semi-clear ruby that darkened considerably from when i first opened it. Cherry and fruit on a huge earthy nose. At one point, though, my nose informed me there was dried shrimp, but that was unrepeatable. In the mouth it's a but of a fruit bomb, with chocolate and licorice. It has a hot, short tail.

+30 Lots of licorice and fruit, but not enough left to consider more. A bit harsher.

Tuscan like on the nose and palate: stewed tomatoes, spice, meaty, and some milk chocolate.
