1996 Quinta do Vesuvio

A bottle that was opened in an emergency 24 hours ago. Not note taken during said emergency but some left in the decanter for this evening.

D+24
Inky black. Powerful smell of young red fruits with a little spirit. Enormously thick and chewy texture. Blackcurrant jam. Some heat on the palate but not enough to distract from a good long mouthwatering finish.

Excellent port that is still far too young to be used and abused in the manner in which this bottle has been. :roll:
