1963 Hedges and Butler Quinta do Noval, in magnum
Sample 1 of 4 very kindly sent to me by JDAW following the opening of 4 Magnums at the Tiddlywinks Dinner on 7th Feb 2009. Decanted at 1pm on that day. Delivered to me in 60ml bottles, each of which contained a significant amount of fine sediment, on 11th Feb and placed in the fridge at around 7pm where they have remained until around 23:00 on 21 Feb.
D+ 14 days and 10 hours, 10 days and 4 hours of which were spent in the fridge
Bright brownish red with a clear rim. Dusty nose. Light mouthfeel with raspberry and aniceed but very hot. Once the heat faded this had a long sweet, mouthwatering finish.
This sample was the same as Sample 3; not as good as Sample 4 which, in turn, was not as good as Sample 2.
Thank you, JDAW.
PS: These 4 Magnums were the siblings of the one used for this experiment.
