NV Blended VP (Noval 63 + Crasto 96)

This glass of port contains 50% Butler Nephew (Noval) 1963 and 50% Quinta do Crasto 1996. The preceeding links are to the actual wines used in this blend.

Very dark red. Dusty nose. Good heavy weight in the mouth. Very dry and hollow but an extremely fruity and long finish. Better than this but nowhere near as good as this.

Very interesting how waxy this is in the mouth. Not something I detected in either of the components.

The 1989½Â±4½ Cálem was better than both of its components.

Are home-made blends going to become standard :TPF: practice?

It seems as though we have no choice. We now have 2 examples so a place on the TN Index in which to hold all such blends seems appropriate?

Surely the correct designation for such a wine is 1996 The Port Forum Crusted?
