2003 Taylor Fladgate LBV Bottled in 2008
Popped and poured.

dark opaque purple.

muted but slightly spirity nose with some red fruit

Sweet spicy christmas cake with a dark chocolate covered prunes that finishes with a bit of plastic, slight burnt wood and raw coffee beans that lasts 25 seconds.

I'll give it some time.

Couldn't wait,

stuck it through the vinturi device

orange peel fruit with some spirits on the nose

almost the same tastes, but a bit more tannins now, the finish is a bit more bitter

will retaste tomorrow but so far, I'm not a fan

some slight blueberry, but it's disjointed

blue berry, like a cheap ruby with slightly more acidity.

From the few LBVs I've had, taylor needs to stop making LBVs

Funny that you should say that, as this is probably my favorite LBV. I first tried it at a local store's tasting class and purchased a bottle, then went back later and purchased 3 more. I thought it was delicious as a daily drinker.

The spicy Christmas cake and chocolate sounds familiar, though as I recall I noted it as milk chocolate. Blueberry also sounds familiar. But from the plastic, burnt wood, and raw coffee beans I wonder if your bottle was somehow damaged?

yea possibly.. this bottle was upright and the store was warm but being a 08 bottle, I dunno maybe 6-8 months of possible damage?

6 days later.

spicy currant nose, i've noticed it went from purple fruit over to red fruit.

sweet medium bodied blueberry christmas cake, the bitterness on the finish transformed into grape stem tannins with a red fruits.

This has lost some body but has turned pretty enjoyable after losing the weird finish.

89/100.
