Deep red, opaque at the centre and the colour holing into the rim - but not strongly coloured enough to leave pink tears on the glass when swirled. Nosing faintly of blackcurrants but with a strange washing-up liquid tone to the bouquet. The entry is full of blackcurrants; sweet, young fruit but with a vigorous acidity to give a lively structure. Lots of fruit on the palate but no tannins made me speculate that this was LBV. A big aftertaste, dominated by fruit lingering and caressing. A very enjoyable port for drinking now but one which may not last the distance - drink sooner rather than later. 89/100. Drunk 18 March 2009.
