NV Graham Tawny 20YO

Post by benread »

A bottle given to me a few months ago by a friend. Opened to drink for my birthday on the chance the wife may want a drop as well.

A beautiful clear strawberry brown colour. Typical tawny caramel nose to it. To taste it is a mixture of coffee and caramel flavours, but not the usual sweetness of a tawny. Really quite dry by comparison. The difference between a 10 year old and this 20 year old is clear. Much smoother and very very enjoyable.

If I had to express an "Uncle Tom" score for 20 YO tawny this would rank (for me) in the upper quartile for drinking now. Being a tawny I doubt there is any long term upside so I would suggest 8-5.

I wish I had more bottles of this!
