NV Tesco Special Reserve (Symington)
Not decanted.

Purchased today with the intention of providing input to this thread.

Very dark and smells of raw meat. Thick and syrupy but after 2 or 3 seconds in the mouth it caused me to shudder and wince. It tastes seriously horrible. It then gives you a nice warm glow, similar to what I would imagine it's like drinking turpentine.

Not good. Not good at all.

Are you sure this wasn't dark pink port that you picked up by mistake?

I would rather drink pink port any day of the week than drink this stuff. I kid you not

I wonder whether Tesco's buyers actually taste the blends for their own brand Ruby and Reserve ports - or just focus on the price

I'd love to know just how much port they sell - with 2000 outlets, their total annual purchases must run to hundreds of truckloads..
