W77 decanted 14:40, a large chunk of cork needing to be bagged out of the bottle. Lovely full-on red, not fully translucent. Full and soft, though overly astringent nothing that a few hours in the decanter won’t fix. Big mouthfeel too me likey. ‟Chocolate”, said my wife’s friend, ‟and caramel”. Then she wouldn’t give me the glass back.

W77: great colour, being translucent brick-red. But too astringent compared to its great neighbours. Fine port for drinking by itself, but not with this crowd.

reddish color all the way through. very pretty.

spicy cinnamon with a mentioned sharp cheddar nose that I kind of agree with.

red currants, graham crackers with a milk chocolate backing.

This definitely had the most acidity of the bunch and was distinctly like currants.

Drink now.

91.

Light in colour, just as the Fonseca. Slight VA showing on the hot nose. It tastes dried out, musty and hot. I can distinguish some light sour cherries with good will, but that's all. Very disappointing. 83 points

This is the second time Warre 1977 disappoints of the two times I tasted it. Hm, slightly worrying given that we own a couple of magnums of this stuff. We decided to bring a (regular) bottle with us to Oman in order to give it a fair chance over a couple of days sometime soon.

Color is a bit light, it's got a big chocolate cherry nose and cheese was also aptly suggested. It's hot with fruit in front, then plums, with a sleekness throughout and a lot of tail. Enjoyable, cheese aside. 96.
